Your right on Shift+Enter... It's simply the way MS created their
internal editor. I have seen at least one WYSIWYG editor that
reverses this, but it does require the javascript that implements the
editor to have a hand in the content insertion. I don't know if there
is an internal function to change IE's default functionality, perhaps
someone else does.
It would be nice to have Editor2 'correct' the different ways
browsers handle things like new spaces, but that would involve a lot
of extra code. A decision best left to the developer.
