We've found a partial answer, unfortunatly it only seems to work on IE.
Here's an example for anyone who might find some use in it. We're
continuing to research.
> We are using a filtering table to display search results to the user.
> When they click on a row it grabs the ID and displays the details for that
> record. That part is working without a problem.
> The problem is that the user does not want to see the ID as part of their
> search results but we still need access to it to identify which record
> detail to pull. Currently we can not figure out how to hide the ID column
> but still access the ID number.
> We tried going the style sheet route, but the table is being rendered by
> JSON data so we only have the ability to override the style for ID column
> TH, but not the TDs for it's rows. Maybe there is a way to do it with
> advanced CSS that is beyond us at the moment?
