Overview:
- ---------------

It's been my great honor and pleasure to work with all of you for the
past 4 years to build Dojo into what is arguably the world's best
JavaScript library -- but more importantly, definitively the best Open
Source JavaScript community anywhere. We have built great tools
without compromising our principles, the interests of our users, or
our openness. While JavaScript toolkits have proliferated, we continue
to uniquely stand apart as a group that welcomes all kinds of quality
contributions but which is not afraid to push the web forward. As a
result, Dojo is known for its quality, "plays well with others" ethos,
and for making "fringe" browser features main-stream. That is
something we can all be deeply proud of.

To keep Dojo best-positioned to help users, developers, and the
community alike, I feel it's time for new project leadership. As
discussed in today's IRC meeting, I'm nominating Peter Higgins who
currently serves as our official Evangelist to take over the role of
Project Lead from me, effective when this vote closes.

Peter can explain his view of where he sees Dojo going in the future,
but given everything he's done for the community so far, I have no
doubts about his ability to lead the project with a sense of purpose
and fairness.

The Measure:
- ---------------

Having worked side-by-side with Peter Higgins as a committer in good
standing and contributor of extraordinary influence, shall the
committers of the Dojo Project elect Pete Higgins to serve as Project
Lead for the Dojo Project and recommend to the Dojo Foundation Board
that he serve as the project's representative in Foundation matters?
