I actually contacted the EFF as soon as I got the first C&D, and they
helped lower my blood pressure back into a nominally dangerous but
liveable range. The long and the short of it is that the only
credible competition to this contest has folded up and gone home
(Lindows), and the words of Larry Rosen (who I also talked to) now
ring ever truer in my head: "can you afford to win?"

There is something of a saga here which perhaps I'll share at some
point, but needless to say, I've given the matter considerable
thought over the years and I've bent the ear of many a lawyer in the
process. This isn't an outcome I would accept save under the pressure
of inevitability.

I may not be able to stop them from taking the name of my poorly
monikerd project, but I can at least try to stop them from having any
great success with XAML. This battle is lost, the war isn't.

Regards
